Face to Face

In this cartoon-like print, two workmen are laying a tile floor. Each of the square tiles has markings that resemble portions of human faces seen in profile, with three distinct types of tiles. The assembled tiles form a tessellation of faces. What's more, each face appears right-side up whether viewed as a left-facing or right-facing face. As the two workmen look at each other across the tiled floor, their own faces blend into the tessellation. "Face to Face" is a limited edition of 50 digital prints executed in 2005; image size 12" x 8".
